I'm a Gemini. Sometimes I do what I want, Sometimes I'm stunned. When I calm down and start thinking, I often think of relatives and friends in my hometown. As a different country, the United States has its own charm, but I find that I lose a lot of things at the same time, the country's night life, food, entertainment, and security. It's dangerous for me that walking on the street at night in the United States. In my hometown, I used to go out at night, but many things have changed now. It's hard for me to find the old feelings since I arrived in Chicago.

When I was in China, I often liked to go out at night. The lights on the roads are very beautiful. At night, when most people went home, I liked to go out and enjoy the the peace and serenity. At night, the restaurants on the street still open. There are my favorite barbecues, fresh beef with a variety of condiments, which made me immersed in the sea of delicacies; however, when I came to Chicago, although there were many different kinds of food in the third largest city in the United States, I could hardly find a barbecue with the same taste as my hometown. There is only a Japanese restaurant called “NiuJiao” which has some similar sauces. I know it won't taste like home, though it's delicious. In my hometown, I do not need to worry about taste, but in Chicago, it's relatively troublesome.

I am also a very friendly person. In my hometown, I often went to eat with my friends, play cards, play mahjong, and occasionally try something new. In China, I often hang out with my friends to play card games and mahjong. Since high school, all my friends around me like to play mahjong which is a hobby. However there is no such place in Chicago, and mahjong is not very popular. It's hard to have a chance to play, and the time spent playing with good friends is the most precious. At the same time, my friends and I will try to talk about recent life. Few people will worry about others in a fast-paced life. At home, because our friendships are more than ten years between my friends and I. We know each other very well, and can help others. Although I met some friends in the United States, I know we can not have the same relationship as my friends and I in China.

There are also night safety problems in Chicago, because the security in my hometown is very good, I can go out for a walk in the evening without worrying about danger and enjoying the night scenery. Chicago is a city with a high crime rate. Especially at night, people go out less. Few people go out for a walk at night and only drive when they go out because there are many gun shooting cases and crimes next to my neighborhood. Since I came here, I always worry about walking in the street after the sun goes down, and it's such a great pity that I can't go for a walk for people who like night scenery. I have given up my hobby for my own safety.

Although there are many novel places in Chicago, without the company of friends. No matter how beautiful the place is, I haven't felt that way since I came to Chicago. I have abandoned my hobby of walking at night because there are many crimes and guns in the city, especially at night. I love my hometown, China, and I like it here too, but I no longer find the joy I had in my hometown. I hope that Chicago can reduce crime rate one day and become a safer city.
