Lucky Name

      My name is Zhaoxiang Guo, and I come from China. As a tradition, it is the most important thing for Chinese parents to give name to their children, and a child’s name always means a lot.

      My name was given to me by my father, he told me that he had thought about my name for a long time. My first name, Zhao”兆”, means omen. And my middle name, xiang”祥”, means luck and hope. When they are together, as Zhaoxiang, it means to bring me luck and hope. This is a good meaning.

I have a brother who is seven years older than me, his name is Zhaochen, which means the hopeful morning. But interestingly, he got his name later than me. Because he had a former name, called Lei”雷”. After giving me the name of Zhaoxiang, my father wanted us to have similar names and meanings, so he gave him the name of Zhaochen. This is also a good meaning.

My father said he hopes that the name will makes me lucky throughout my life, so I like my name so much. Every time I think about my name, the words”Good Luck” come to my mind. It seems like someone always encourages me and makes me lucky. I believe that is my father.
